What Do We Do?

We offer free courses for adults to finish their high school diploma, study for high school equivalency and exit exams, and enhance basic reading and math skills.

There are four quarters during the year with accelerated learning, up to 10 credits are earned per session.  A student who is in the morning program all year can earn up to 40 credits by June.  For additional credits, distance learning classes are available. 

CAHSEE Testing for Adult School students will be given through the High School/GED Office 925-685-7340 x6745, on November 4 and 5. You must preregister with the HS Dept. Office and be in our program to take the test here.  Call the office for more info.

Orientation for Adults will begin in December for Winter session.  Please click on the "Orientation" tab above for instructions at that time.   Priority Registration for Returning Students December 1-13, 2014.  (Returning students are defined as students who are currently enrolled at MDAE.)  New Student  Orientation Registration – December 15-18, 2014 and January 5th and January 6th.  (Classes are on a first come, first serve basis) - Exact Times and Days will be determined.

The requirements for the California High School Equivalency Certificate have been modified by the California Board of Education to include the completion of any one of the three high school equivalency tests (GED, HiSET, and TASC) for students 18 years old and older, and 17 years old in some instances.
